Giving Back

Enable is a not-for-profit organisation working in partnership with councils, charities, and community groups to deliver health, leisure, and cultural services that enrich people’s lives. We create opportunities for everyone to engage in events and activities that support wellbeing, celebrate creativity, and strengthen local connections.

Across Wandsworth and beyond, Enable delivers a wide range of events, from large-scale celebrations like Battersea Park in Concert to smaller local community events, all designed to bring people together. Ticket sales from Battersea Park in Concert, along with all Enable events, directly support our mission. These funds are reinvested into community initiatives, including health and wellbeing programmes, local arts and cultural activities, and the protection of our borough’s green spaces.

Every event we deliver helps build a healthier, happier, and more connected community.

Battersea Park in Concert organised workshops in two local Wandsworth schools: Falconbrook Primary School and St Georges Church of England Primary School, in partnership with RPO Resound, the Community and Education branch of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  

For over 30 years, RPO Resound has been at the forefront of using music-making to enrich the lives of people in communities across the UK and internationally.    

These primary schools were selected for this programme because they have fewer opportunities to access music-making and instrumental lessons. Working with musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, the children composed their own music, inspired by Battersea Park in Concert’s orchestral repertoire.  

The RPO Resound team visited each school twice, bringing different musicians to work with the children and show them a range of instruments. The children learnt about orchestras, instruments and classical music, worked together to develop their creativity and composition skills, and built their confidence to explore ideas with their friends and perform original music and dances.
